A biologically plausible neuromorphic system for object recognition and depth analysis
نویسندگان
چکیده
We present a large-scale Neuromorphic model based on integrateand-fire (IF) neurons that analyses objects and their depth within a moving visual scene. A feature-based algorithm builds a luminosity receptor field as an artificial retina, in which the IF neurons act both as photoreceptors and processing units. We show that the IF neurons can trace an object’s path and depth using an adaptive time-window and Temporally Asymmetric Hebbian (TAH) training.

Convolutional Spike Timing Dependent Plasticity based Feature Learning in Spiking Neural Networks
Brain-inspired learning models attempt to mimic the cortical architecture and computations performed in the neurons and synapses constituting the human brain to achieve its efficiency in cognitive tasks. In this work, we present convolutional spike timing dependent plasticity based feature learning with biologically plausible leaky-integrate-and-fire neurons in Spiking Neural Networks (SNNs). W...
متن کاملHardware Acceleration for Neuromorphic Vision Algorithms
Neuromorphic vision algorithms are biologically inspired models that follow the processing that takes place in the primate visual cortex. Despite their efficiency and robustness, the complexity of these algorithms results in reduced performance when executed on general purpose processors. This paper proposes an application-specific system for accelerating a neuromorphic vision system for object...
متن کاملBrain Inspired Cognitive Systems
A cognitive vision neuronal network based on leaky integrate-and-fire (LIF) neurons is proposed for object recognition and depth analysis. In this network every LIF neuron is able to capture the edge flowing through it and record the temporal information. If the neuron issues a spike, the temporal information will be encoded by the time constant of the spike potential and transferred to its suc...
متن کاملA Prototype Imaging System with a Biologically Inspired Imager for an Extended Range Walking Stick
This thesis describes the first attempt at simulating a prototype imaging system involving a biologically inspired imager for the purpose of estimating depth information in ambient scenes. This is part of the series of tests intended for the neuromorphic device developed at the ISS Complex Systems Unit under the HAPTIC project, a feasibility study on the integration of neuromorphic imagers with...
متن کاملBio-inspired visual signal processing based on neuromorphic circuit
This paper describes the bio-inspired visual signal processing by neuromorphic system, mimicking the primitive behaviour of visual cortex. The neuromorphic components are investigated for implementation of the visual signal selectivity of cortex, based on the CMOS conductance-based synaptic connections and neurons of Hodgkin-Huxley formalism. The proposed neuromorphic system exhibits the biolog...
